Hello Eric. My name is Pavel. (excuse, I badly speak in English, only through the translator). You perfectly play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am simple in delight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hours every day I look on your site your records I have started to play on a violin in 13 years, studied at musical school of 5 years, have then finished it and later 2 years, in August of the last year, have decided to be engaged again with the teacher. Me has inspired on this your execution of the Chaconne Vitali, just as Vivaldi's music when to me there were 13 years. Unfortunately I play badly enough, at an amateur level. But I have a hope that I can to act in musical school though with my game it not will turn out. By formation I the teacher (4 rates are more exact while the student, but already I work by a trade), but even have a favourite trade without a violin I can not live - but a little that it turns out to play, and it for me is very sad, because unique my interest in a life is music and a violin. Very much to you I envy, and I am very much afflicted when I listen to yours playing and I realize that so never I can play. I would like to ask you, on how many hours per day you were engaged and engaged that so perfectly to play? Whether and probably to have such level if to start to be engaged professionally in 20 years? To me 21 year. How many hours per day I need to play? If you not difficultly please answer. If cannot answer a site on this question that please write on the address: a_vivaldi@mail.ru Many thanks!!!
Eric, it again Pavel.Sorry for anxiety, last transfer there was ужастным as at me a bad translator. Has taken advantage of another and has understood that it is necessary to specify that that is written in the first message. There I am written that the student of the fourth year and I work as I am a teacher but as I play a violin as the fan. Has started to play 13 years, has finished muses. School in 18 and now in 20 has started to be engaged with the teacher. Simply there in the middle of the text as I have found out full horror: something about the trade, full horror. I am a student and teacher in school. In the end like all it should be more clear. There it is written чтоо now to me 21 year and whether I can sometime play the same level as yours? How many hours per day you are engaged that so perfectly to play. Once again excuse that таой not clear transfer in transfer the message.
Dear Pavel, Thanks for your message! I have always believed in using time most efficiently. I have found that my best practicing is when I do basic technique (scales and basic technical exercises) for the first hour of practice. Bach Partitas and Sonatas or Paganini Caprices are also very helpful for me. Personally I have never believed in practicing more than 4 hours. When I have had concentrated practice, I have often found I accomplish more in 1 hour than I would in several hours of unfocused practicing. Wishing you the best, Eric
The message from Pavel. Hello Eric!!! Will excuse for troubling!!! Answer please one very important question for me!!! I wish to pick up good student's strings with which it is possible to study as much as possible well. Now I use Pirastro Passione, but they for four months of a steel as a cord though and well sounded.
You use for the violin of a string Thomastik (grade Dominant) and all professionals of your level use them. And what firm at you string E and what grade? As you interestingly use string E in a winding or without a winding? What covering and what basis at this string ( steel, aluminium, silver)?
Your strings G, D, A (Thomastik (grade Dominant): What has covering string G ( aluminium, silver)? What has covering string D ( aluminium, silver)? What has covering string A ( aluminium, silver)? How often you change all complete set of strings?
Once again excuse for frequent anxiety. In advance many thanks!!! Pavel
Hello there! I really admire your violin playing, especially on the Saint-Saens. I'm 13, I've been playing for 3 years now and I'm just starting the Kreisler Praeludium and Allegro. Where'd you get your violin?
@Anonymous Yes, after the Drawing for Placement on 9/9, it will be posted on website: http://www.ericsilberger.com/ES3/es3_news.html, and Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ViolinistEricSilberger. Thanks!
Eric, very much enjoyed the Mozart K575 quartet video on Youtube. I came over here and went "Aggghhh" when I saw the photo of you throwing your violin in the air! I've played for 45 years (mediocre amateur, but I get a lot of enjoyment from it), and I can't imagine doing that... except maybe with the fiddle I take camping.

Hi Jeremy,
ReplyDeleteI got my violin from my grandfather who is a violin dealer. You can see his website at johnhsuviolins.com
All the best,

Eric,
ReplyDeleteSome of your Indianapolis audience would love to know exactly when you are playing in the violin competition. Will you be posting that?
